Frostbite
Frostbite is a game for the Atari 2600, developed by Activision, by programmer: Steve Cartwright. The game's name derives from the English word "Frostbite", which refers to "freezing of the body at very low temperatures".
In Frostbite, the player controls the character "Frostbite Bailey", who is in the middle of the Arctic. Because of the cold, you must help "Frostbite Bailey" build his igloo before the temperature drops too low and kills the character from hypothermia. To build your igloo, you must jump on ice blocks in a dangerous frozen lake, fleeing from marine creatures and polar bears. These ice blocks are in different sea currents, and therefore move in opposite directions. The level is passed by finishing the igloo and entering it.
There was a predetermined time to perform this action and more difficulties were presented with each level. And the less time you take to complete the levels, the more points you earn.
The cartridge was released in 1983. Several companies manufactured it, including Polivox and CCE.
As with other Atari titles at the time, it was possible to be recognized for good performance in the game. If players sent photos of TVs with a score of at least 40,000 points, they earned the "Arctic Architect" patch.
In 2010, the game was re-released thanks to Microsoft's Game Room service for Xbox 360, PC, and Windows Phone.
