Fun With Numbers (Basic Math)
Galaxian is an arcade game developed by Namco and released in October 1979 in Japan. It was published by Namco in Japan and imported to North America by Midway that same year in December. The player controls a spaceship at the bottom of the screen and must shoot down waves of alien ships descending from various directions. It was designed to compete with Space Invaders.
Galaxian was very successful for Namco and introduced several innovations to the genre, including enemies that swoop down in formation to dive-bomb the player. When it was ported to the Atari 2600, it became one of the most popular shooters on the system, praised for its colorful graphics and fast gameplay compared to other titles of the time.
