Kaboom !
Kaboom! is an action game designed by Larry Kaplan and developed by Activision for Atari 2600 in 1981. It was also released for Atari 5200. This game was commercially successful, selling over 1 million cartridges by 1983.
In the game, the "Mad Bomber" appears, dropping bombs from the top of the screen that must be intercepted by one of the three water buckets controlled by the player. The difficulty level increases as the game progresses.
When Kaboom! was originally released, anyone scoring over 3,000 points could send Activision a photo of their TV screen to receive membership in the Activision Bucket Brigade.
