Airlock
Airlock is an action-adventure game for the Atari 2600 console, developed by M-Network and released in 1982. The game takes place in a science fiction setting where the player controls an astronaut who must escape a spaceship invaded by hostile aliens.
The goal of the game is to find the key to the exit door, while avoiding enemies and collecting useful items to help in the escape. Enemies are represented by aliens and robots that patrol the ship and can be defeated with a shot from the player-controlled character's laser. Additionally, there are also traps such as landmines and energy fields that can be fatal to the character.
The game is divided into several stages, each with a different ship layout and an increase in difficulty. Some stages present additional challenges such as moving walls, disappearing platforms, and teleporters that change the character's position on the ship. Time is limited in each stage and the player must complete it before time runs out, otherwise the character will lose a life.
Airlock was well received by players at the time, mainly for its challenging gameplay and the variety of elements that kept the game interesting and fun. The game's background music was also praised for its sci-fi atmosphere.
Although the game was released over 30 years ago, it can still be played today through Atari 2600 emulators or in retro game collections. Airlock is an Atari 2600 classic and remains an example of challenging and fun gameplay that can be enjoyed by players of all ages.
