Stargate
Released in 1984, Stargate was programmed by Dan Kitchen and published by Atari, Inc.. The game is a direct sequel to the classic Defender, and in some places was called Defender II.
In Stargate, the player once again assumes command of a defense ship, with the mission to protect humans on the surface of an alien planet, while facing waves of space enemies. Among the novelties of this sequel are more varied enemies, power-ups, teleports through the Stargate, and even faster and more challenging gameplay.
The player must demonstrate quick reflexes, shooting skill, and rescue strategy, preventing humans from being abducted by aliens. The action is intense, with enemies appearing from all sides of the screen.
