Gyruss
Gyruss is a shoot 'em up arcade game developed by Konami, released in 1983. Designed by Yoshiki Okamoto, it is known for its unique tube shooter perspective and stereo sound soundtrack featuring "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor".
The player controls a spaceship fighting enemies on each planet of the Solar System. Unlike other shooters, the ship flies towards the center of the screen continuously, moving in a circle, creating a pseudo-3D effect. The journey begins at Neptune and heads towards Earth. The Atari 2600 port, released by Parker Brothers, is a faithful adaptation managing to keep the circular gameplay and fast pace despite the hardware limitations.
